After the 2010 Haiti earthquake, Harrison Ford used a plane he owned, a Cessna Caravan, to help fly supplies and medical personnel (doctors, nurses, anesthesiologists) to Port-au-Prince, then on regular trips to Hinche (a more remote highland community) that had no airport but a field usable for landing.

He joined Conservation International, became vice-chairman, has been active for many years. He has donated time, money, land; pushed for environmental conservation, etc.

He has served in that role, patrolling the Hudson River in his helicopter to help identify/prosecute polluters

Ford is Honorary Chairman of Young Eagles, which gives children a chance to fly in aircraft free of charge; Ford himself has flown many young people in his own time.

Beyond just donating to or being behind the scenes, he personally has flown over 280 children in his own time as part of that program, giving them exposure to aviation and nature.

He has donated about half of his land (on his ranch in Wyoming) to a nature reserve for conservation.

n 2025, Ford accepted the “Dr. Randy Sherman Visionary Award” from Operation Smile, in honor of his (late) friend Randy Sherman, highlighting their joint humanitarian efforts (medical missions, using aviation to transport aid) & trying to inspire others.
