Everyone knows that there are places underground that have fossils 70 million years old. What most people don’t realize is that these things didn’t all die. Scientists bored a hole 850 feet down into the era of dinosaurs and found 3,500 living, undiscovered species of fungi, protozoa and bacteria. The scientists do not know whether these are the same as those who lived in prehistory or whether they have mutated.
