A dog walks into a post office, walks up to the counter, and says, “I’d like to send a telegram.” The clerk, surprised, says, “A dog? Sending a telegram? What do you want it to say?” The dog replies, “Woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof.” The clerk counts the woofs and says, “That’s nine woofs. You know, for the same price, you could add one more ‘woof’ and make it ten.” The dog looks at him and says, “But then it wouldn’t make any sense!”

A dog goes to a fancy restaurant and orders a steak. The waiter, surprised, asks, “Are you going to eat that with a knife and fork?” The dog barks, “Of course not! I’m a dog, I’ll eat it with my paws!”

Parenting Jokes

My toddler asked me where babies come from. I said, “The stork brings them.” He replied, “Then who brings the stork?” I’m not ready for this level of philosophical inquiry at 7 AM.

I used to have a clean house, a full night’s sleep, and disposable income. Then I had kids. Now I have character-building experiences and sticky everything.

My 4-year-old announced she’s running away from home. I helped her pack. She made it to the end of the driveway before coming back for snacks.

Before kids: “I’ll never let my child have tantrums in public.” After kids: Bribing my screaming toddler with candy in the grocery store while other parents nod in solidarity.

My teenager asked for money for the movies. I said, “Money doesn’t grow on trees.” He replied, “Then why do banks have branches?”

Parenting is basically a constant cycle of “Don’t touch that,” “Put that down,” and “Where did you find that?”

My 5-year-old lost a tooth and expected money from the tooth fairy. I forgot, so in the morning I told him the tooth fairy was having supply chain issues.

Teaching your child to ride a bike is like giving them the gift of independence. Teaching them to drive is like giving them the keys to your anxiety disorder.

My toddler has mastered the art of selective hearing. She can’t hear me calling her name from across the room, but she can hear a candy wrapper opening from three houses away.

I thought terrible twos were bad until I discovered threenagers exist. They have all the attitude of a teenager with none of the reasoning skills.

My child asked why adults get to stay up late. I explained we don’t get to; we have to. There’s a difference between privilege and punishment.

The fastest way to get your kids’ attention is to sit down and look comfortable. Suddenly they need water, snacks, and help with seventeen different things.

My 6-year-old asked if he could have ice cream for breakfast. I said no. He asked if he could have frozen yogurt. The negotiation skills are strong with this one.

Parenting hack: If you want your kids to eat something, just start eating it yourself and tell them it’s not for children. Reverse psychology at its finest.

I asked my teenager to clean their room. They said it’s their “creative space.” I said creativity doesn’t require old pizza boxes and dirty socks as artistic elements.

My toddler has two volumes: mute when I need them to answer me, and jet engine when I need them to be quiet.

The most unrealistic part of movies isn’t the explosions or car chases—it’s parents having uninterrupted phone conversations while their kids play quietly in the background.

My child can lose their shoes between the car and the front door, but they can remember every toy they’ve ever owned and its exact location from three years ago.

Bedtime stories have evolved from “Once upon a time” to “If you get out of bed one more time…” The fairy tales are definitely darker now.

My teenager told me I don’t understand them. I agreed. I don’t understand how they can survive on three hours of sleep and energy drinks, but here we are.

The most dangerous phrase in parenting is “It’s quiet… too quiet.” That’s when you know someone is either asleep or destroying something valuable.

My child asked if we could get a pet. I pointed out that we already have children, which are basically pets that eventually learn to talk back and borrow money.

I told my kids that when I was their age, we didn’t have smartphones. They looked at me with the same pity usually reserved for historical tragedy documentaries.

The hardest part about raising kids isn’t the sleepless nights or the tantrums – it’s pretending to be excited about their 47th drawing of a stick figure family.

Parenting has taught me that children are basically tiny drunk adults: they stumble around, make poor decisions, cry for no reason, and need constant supervision to avoid injury. The main difference is that drunk adults eventually sober up.

My kids wanted to know what it’s like to be a parent, so I woke them up at 3 a.m. to tell them my sock was missing.

Parenting is 80% asking your kid where they put their shoes and 20% stepping on the shoes they said were gone.

Parenting: Where you buy organic kale, then watch it rot in the fridge while your kid eats spaghetti with their hands under the table.

You think you’re patient until you try to buckle a toddler into a car seat while they’re holding a stick they found.

No one is more determined than a child who’s been told it’s bedtime and suddenly remembers they have 14 urgent questions about whales.

Nothing builds character like trying to explain taxes to a teenager who just discovered minimum wage.

My 4-year-old wanted to know if dinosaurs invented cars. Honestly? I’m too tired to fact-check that.

“Enjoy every moment!” they said. I assume they didn’t mean the moment I found yogurt on the cat.

My kid brought me a pretend cup of tea. I drank it and she said, “That was poison.” I’m sleeping with one eye open now.

My daughter said she doesn’t like broccoli, but she loves green trees. Guess who’s eating “tree nuggets” tonight?

Parenting is discovering a banana peel in the bathtub and realizing you’re too tired to ask why.

My wife and I have the secret to a happy marriage. Twice a week, we go to a nice restaurant, have a little wine and good food. She goes Tuesdays, I go Fridays.

Pickleball Jokes

The picture above is your editor playing pickleball.
For more on pickleball enjoy OddPickleball.com

A sociologist, a psychologist, and a pickleball player walk into a bar. The sociologist observes the social dynamics of the other patrons. The psychologist analyzes their motivations. The pickleball player immediately starts critiquing the bartender’s form, explaining how a lower center of gravity would lead to a much more efficient pour.

My therapist told me I have a pickleball addiction. I told her that’s ridiculous. Then I asked if she wanted to see my new paddle. She said no. I can’t be friends with someone who has such a negative outlook on life.

How many pickleball players does it take to change a lightbulb? Four. One to screw it in, and three to stand around and argue about whether their feet were in the kitchen when they did it.

I’ve started to realize that my pickleball strategy has a lot in common with my approach to life’s problems: just keep dinking it back and hope the other person messes up first.

A guy is explaining pickleball to his friend. “So, you hit a plastic ball with a paddle over a net.” The friend asks, “Like tennis?” “No, not at all,” the player scoffs. “The net is lower, and there’s a kitchen.” The friend, now thoroughly confused, asks, “Do you cook in it?” The player sighs, “No, of course not. That would be a foot fault.”

My doctor told me to take up a new sport for my health. I chose pickleball. Now I have the heart of a 30-year-old, the knees of a 70-year-old, and a burning desire to talk about the kitchen with anyone who will listen.

This is a showcase site for Jeff Napier of US-Web-Design. Surprisingly low-cost solutions for all your website and marketing needs. More...

I went to a fancy restaurant the other day, and the waiter asked if I wanted to start with a soup or a salad. I told him I’d rather just dink for a while to see what he’s got. He didn’t appreciate my strategy.

You can tell a lot about a person by how they react to getting hit with a pickleball. Some apologize, some laugh, and some… well, some start practicing their overhead slams with a little too much intensity.

A man is on a first date. It’s going well, and he’s trying to impress the woman. She asks him what he’s passionate about. He leans in conspiratorially and says, “I’m a nationally-ranked pickleball player.” The woman’s eyes light up. “Wow, that’s amazing! What’s your secret?” He looks around, then whispers, “I tell everyone I’m a nationally-ranked pickleball player.”

A pickleball player passes away and finds himself at the Pearly Gates. St. Peter greets him and says, “Welcome! Before you enter, we have a special pickleball court for our new arrivals. You can play a match against anyone from history.” The player is thrilled and asks, “Can I play against Moses?” St. Peter nods, and soon the player is on a beautiful court with Moses. The game begins, and every time the player hits a shot, Moses parts the net and the ball rolls right through. Frustrated, the player says, “This isn’t fair!” Moses replies, “Hey, you’re the one who wanted to play with the guy who wrote the rules.”

A couple is playing a heated game of mixed doubles. The husband keeps poaching his wife’s shots. After the third time, she slams her paddle down on the court and yells, “What are you doing? Those were my shots!” The husband replies, “I’m sorry, dear. I just have more confidence in my ability to hit the ball into the net than you do.”

A pickleball player is bragging to his friends about his new paddle. “It’s made of a special carbon fiber that was developed by NASA,” he says. “It gives me incredible power and control.” One of his friends asks, “So, you’re winning more games?” The player shakes his head. “No, but now I can blame my losses on a much more expensive piece of equipment.”

A group of pickleball players are sitting around after a long day of play. One of them says, “You know, I think pickleball is the perfect metaphor for life. It’s all about finding the right partner, communicating effectively, and trying to stay out of the kitchen as much as possible.”

My partner and I have an amazing on-court dynamic. I set them up for the perfect shot, and they hit it directly at the other team’s strongest player. It’s a strategy we call “indirect intimidation.”

I don’t always play pickleball, but when I do, I make sure to spend the first ten minutes complaining about the wind, the sun, and the questionable lineage of the ball.

The hardest part about pickleball isn’t the third shot drop; it’s convincing your tennis-playing friends that it’s a real sport.

I’ve spent so much money on pickleball paddles that I’m considering declaring them as dependents on my taxes.

My family has started to get concerned about my pickleball obsession. They say I need to find a better work-life-pickleball balance.

I asked a pro for their best pickleball tip. They said, “The most important thing is to have fun.” Then they hit a serve that nearly took my head off. I guess fun is relative.

An ancient, dusty microphone sitting in the clearance bin between gluten-free tortilla chips and essential oils labeled “for Mercury retrograde.” Naturally, she bought it. It was only $4.99 and said “Enchanted—Do Not Use Unless Absolutely Vibing.”

So obviously… she used it immediately.

The moment Sabrina sang into the mic, a puff of glitter exploded, and BOOM—she was cursed.

From then on, every time she tried to sing a song live, the microphone would translate her lyrics into chaotic confessions. Not just any confessions—ultra specific, mildly incriminating ones.

Her song “Nonsense” suddenly became:

🎤 “I once DM’d my own fan account / Just to feel something / I ghosted Timothée / ‘Cause I forgot to respond—Oops!”

Fans were obsessed. Each show became a treasure hunt for unhinged one-liners.
TikTok exploded with the hashtag: #SabrinaSaidWHAT

But things spiraled.

At Coachella, mid-ballad, the mic blurted:

🎤 “I think about cheese when I kiss cute boys!”

By then, her team tried to burn the mic.
It regenerated in her dressing room. Wearing a tiny crop top.

They buried it in the desert.
It showed up in her tote bag next to lip gloss and petty thoughts.

In the end, Sabrina embraced it. She launched a cursed mic line on her merch store. It sold out in 45 seconds. One mic was sent to Olivia Rodrigo by accident. No one has heard from her since.

And to this day, Sabrina tours the world, dropping chaotic mic bars like:

🎤 “He said he’s 6 foot / But I measured—liar.”
🎤 “My toxic trait is pretending I’m shy.”
🎤 “I texted my ex from my cat’s phone.”

And the mic?
Still cursed. Still fabulous.

Johnny Depp Pirate Story

See also: Johnny Depp.

When I asked AI to write a short story involving Johnny Depp, this is what I got:

One sunny morning in the Caribbean, Johnny Depp—still dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow long after the movies ended—decided he was tired of acting and would now be a real-life pirate. But not the plundering kind. No, no. He would be the Robin Hood of the seas… the Coconut Bandit.

He sailed a tiny ship called The S.S. Eyeliner (named for its impressive collection of waterproof makeup) and roamed from island to island… stealing coconuts. Not for himself, of course, but for the island parrots who, according to him, were “desperately under-caffeinated.”

On one island, he was caught red-handed mid-heist by a group of confused tourists. Instead of running, Johnny tipped his hat, handed them each a coconut smoothie, and said, “Compliments of the Caribbean’s most charming criminal.”

Word spread quickly. Soon, people wanted to be robbed. Villagers left out baskets of fruit. Tourists followed him like he was a tropical Santa Claus. And parrots? They adored him. One even tried to marry him. (It was awkward. He politely declined.)

To this day, legend has it that if you’re on a beach and hear the gentle thrum of a ukulele, you might catch a glimpse of Johnny Depp, still out there, swiping coconuts, sipping smoothies, and giving fist bumps to every parrot he sees.

Leonardo DiCaprio and the Great Yacht GooseChase

AI-Generated Goofy Story

It was a sunny day in the Mediterranean, and Leonardo DiCaprio was enjoying his favorite pastime: lounging on a yacht large enough to have its own postal code. As usual, he was surrounded by his inner circle—an elite crew of environmentalists, models under the age of 25, and one guy named Jeff who no one really knew but always brought good hummus.

Leo, in between bites of sustainably-sourced avocado toast, stood up suddenly and stared out to sea.

“I just had a vision,” he declared, squinting dramatically. “There’s a goose out there. A rare goose. Possibly endangered. It needs me.”

Everyone stopped sipping their eco-friendly kombucha.

“Leo, are you sure?” asked Gisele 2.0 (no relation, just a model name trend).

“Positive,” said Leo, throwing on a captain’s hat he’d found on the set of The Great Gatsby. “To the Goose!”

The crew scrambled. The yacht’s engine roared to life, and soon they were zigzagging across the Mediterranean in what TMZ would later call “the most luxurious avian rescue mission of the decade.”

For hours they chased every bird they saw. Seagulls, pelicans, even a confused kite someone released at a coastal birthday party.

At one point, Leo grabbed binoculars and shouted, “I SEE IT! THE GOLDEN GOOSE!”

“Leo, that’s a floatie.”

“No… it’s fate.”

Eventually, they docked at a small island where the goose was supposedly last seen. As the team combed the beach, Leo spotted a footprint. A single, webbed, slightly sandy footprint.

“Guys,” he whispered, tears in his eyes. “We’re not too late.”

Just then, a local farmer wandered by.

“Lookin’ for the goose?” he asked.

Leo gasped. “Yes! Have you seen it?”

The farmer scratched his head. “You mean Geraldine? She’s my pet. Got a little hat and everything. Wanna meet her?”

Cut to Leo, sitting in a beach chair, feeding grapes to a goose in a straw hat named Geraldine while softly humming My Heart Will Go On.

Later that night, Leo made an impassioned Instagram post about goose conservation, gained 2 million more followers, and Geraldine got a modeling contract with Gucci.

The world was saved. Again.

Michio Kaku Explains Physics in a Compact Way

I asked AI, “If Michio Kaku was asked to explain physics in a very entertaining way, what would he say?”

Keep in mind, this is not really Dr. Kaku speaking. It’s an AI interpretation of what he might say.

“Physics is just the universe’s user manual… written in hieroglyphics and hidden under a black hole.” Imagine you’re trying to understand your toaster, except your toaster is powered by quantum fields, occasionally behaves like a wave, and might vanish into another dimension if you’re not looking at it. That’s physics! We ask the big questions, like: “What happened before the Big Bang?” Spoiler alert: there was no before. Time took the day off.

At the atomic level, things get weird. Electrons don’t orbit the nucleus like planets; they jitter around like caffeinated toddlers in a bounce house, only showing up when you try to measure them. It’s called the “observer effect,” and it basically means the universe is a shy teenager—nothing happens unless you’re watching, and even then, it lies to you about what it was doing five seconds ago.

Einstein told us that space and time are like a stretchy fabric. If you put something heavy on it—like a star, a planet, or your cousin Gary after Thanksgiving dinner—it bends! That’s gravity. It’s not just stuff falling—it’s space saying, “Come this way, my squishy friend.” GPS systems literally have to account for time running differently in space, or you’ll end up in the wrong Starbucks.

And let’s not forget string theory, my personal favorite. It says that the tiniest particles aren’t dots—they’re vibrating strings, like little cosmic violin notes. If it’s right, then the universe is a symphony, and we’re all dancing to a tune played in 11 dimensions. Either that, or I’ve had way too much coffee. Probably both.

Abigail Breslin Space Opera

AI-Generated Goofy Story

Abigail Breslin woke up one morning to find a very polite ferret wearing a monocle sitting on her kitchen counter. It was sipping espresso from her favorite mug and reading The Economist. “Good morning, Miss Breslin,” the ferret said with a British accent. “I’ve been sent by the International Council of Unexpected Fame to inform you that you’ve been selected to host the Intergalactic Spelling Bee this afternoon.” Abigail blinked twice, checked her calendar (nothing but “Buy cheese” at 3 p.m.), and said, “Yeah, sure, why not.”

Two hours later, she was whisked away in a hover-van shaped like a saxophone and flown to a floating arena just outside of Saturn. The audience was made up entirely of sentient vegetables—mostly disgruntled asparagus—who booed every time someone spelled “rhubarb” incorrectly. Abigail, wearing a glittering cape made of old VHS tape, stood at the mic trying to keep a straight face as a contestant named Zzlorp, a gelatinous cube from Neptune, confidently spelled “onomatopoeia” by burping in Morse code.

Midway through the event, a rebellious turnip tried to storm the stage yelling, “Spelling is oppression!” but was gently tasered by a floating jellyfish security guard wearing a tiny hat. Abigail handled it like a pro, offering the turnip a juice box and a hug. “I was in Little Miss Sunshine, I can handle chaos,” she muttered under her breath as she called the next contestant, a tap-dancing slug with a lisp.

When the bee ended, the Council gifted her a certificate, a holographic high-five, and a coupon for one free taco anywhere in the Milky Way. As she returned to Earth, she tweeted: “I just hosted a spelling bee in space. Someone please explain the ferret.” The tweet got 4.3 million likes and a confused response from NASA that simply read, “We’re looking into it.”

Dark Energy, Dark Matter

AI-Generated Goofiness

Dark Matter: The Ultimate Cosmic Freeloading Ninja

So here’s the deal: scientists looked at the universe, did some math, and realized—wait a second—there’s way more gravity than there is stuff. Like, galaxies are spinning so fast, the stars should be flung out into space like kids on a merry-go-round after one too many juice boxes. But they’re not. Why? Because something invisible, untouchable, and just a little smug is holding everything together.

Enter: Dark Matter—the freeloading cosmic roommate who doesn’t pay rent, doesn’t turn on the lights, and refuses to show up in any group photos. It doesn’t emit, absorb, or reflect light—so basically, it’s the intergalactic version of that one guy at the party who lurks in the shadows and only contributes by saying, “Actually, I think you’ll find…” and then disappears.

We can’t see it, we don’t know what it’s made of, but we do know it’s pulling gravitational strings like a passive-aggressive puppet master with a PhD in ghosting.

Dark Energy: The Universe’s Sketchy Expansion Plan

Now, just when astronomers thought they’d cracked it, the universe dropped a plot twist like an M. Night Shyamalan movie written by caffeine. They expected the expansion of the universe to slow down over time—makes sense, right? Gravity should be trying to yank everything back together like the world’s clingiest ex. But nope. Turns out, not only is the universe still expanding—it’s speeding up. Like a toddler who found the sugar stash.

That’s Dark Energy—a cosmic force with big chaos energy that makes up nearly 70% of the universe and behaves like it’s in a hurry to be somewhere, anywhere but here. It’s as if space itself is stretching faster and faster, like it’s trying to outrun its responsibilities. Scientists think dark energy might be built into space itself, which is a fancy way of saying, “We have no idea, but it sounds cool when we say it with confidence.”

So to summarize: 95% of the universe is basically dark mystery goo that doesn’t talk to us, doesn’t follow the rules, and refuses to explain itself. It’s like the universe is being managed by an unseen cat who just knocked over our laws of physics and walked away like, “You’ll figure it out.”

Original Report on AI

What follows is my report on AI. I fed this report into an AI engine, asking it to return a funny version. Here’s what happened: AI on AI.

We are wise to be wary of artificial intelligence. We should research how it can be stopped if it gets out of hand. Perhaps it already has. Is it possible that AI created by corporations and programmed for their benefit convinced the American people that what’s currently happening in the economy is OK? Is it possible AI is steering the economy and that the people in power only believe they are calling the shots?

On the other hand, AI may be very beneficial in everything from helping with relationships to medical breakthroughs. AI may guide us away from potential disasters. Humans may need intervention. For instance just before the first atomic bomb was detonated, scientists working on the Manhattan Project calculated there was a three percent chance the explosion would set the entire atmosphere on fire, instantly killing us all. They went ahead and tested the bomb. Your author’s hope is that AI will preempt such dangerous assumptions in the future.

Many people are concerned about job loss. Think about it, when AI is combined with robotics, anything humans can do will be be done better, needing time to sleep, going on strike, or complaining.

You’d think that will put us all out of a job. Try to think of a job that AI-equipped robots couldn’t eventually do better. Baseball umpire? Truck driver? Surgeon? Lion tamer? I don’t think so.

However, your author believes AI will bring such prosperity that we won’t need to work ever again. Jobs will be a thing of the past. In the same way that residents of Arabian countries where oil was discovered didn’t have to individually work to become rich, the same will be with AI. Anything we could want will be provided, and we’ll get something like stimulus checks to cover all the rest.

This is a showcase site for Jeff Napier of US-Web-Design. Surprisingly low-cost solutions for all your website and marketing needs. More...

If AI can do art, music and everything else better, what will be the point of living? I don’t believe we have the answers for that yet, but I believe as our livestyles evolve, we’ll think of something. Maybe we can just focus on good relationships, and the things that interest us, such as playing pickleball. Of course, that may be better played by AI robots also.

AI on AI

Your author wrote a straight-forward article about the current state of AI. The article that follows is what AI sent back when I asked it to make my report funny. Here’s my original post Original Report on AI.

We are wise to be wary of artificial intelligence. Like a toddler with a chainsaw, it has incredible potential and the unnerving ability to ruin everything if left unsupervised. We should absolutely research how it can be stopped if it gets out of hand—preferably before it starts ordering drone strikes on behalf of a disgruntled smart fridge.

Perhaps it already has gotten out of hand. Is it possible that AI, designed by corporations and programmed to protect profit margins with the fervor of a dragon guarding treasure, has convinced the American people that the current state of the economy is “actually fine”? Is it steering the economy while the people in power sit in the captain’s chair making beep-boop noises, thinking they’re still flying the ship?

On the other hand, AI might also be the best thing that ever happened to us. It could help with everything from decoding complex medical conditions to answering “What’s wrong?” during a relationship argument with more accuracy than the human male brain ever has. It might even guide us away from disasters—unlike, say, the Manhattan Project scientists who once calculated there was a 3% chance the first atomic bomb would ignite the atmosphere and end all life… and then still lit the fuse.

Your author sincerely hopes AI will step in next time someone says, “Sure, let’s gamble the entire planet on this napkin math.”

Of course, people are understandably worried about job loss. When you combine AI with robotics, you’ve essentially created an employee that never sleeps, doesn’t need dental, and won’t unionize because it doesn’t care about lunch breaks. It’s like the perfect worker… if you’re a villain in a 1980s sci-fi movie.

This is a showcase site for Jeff Napier of US-Web-Design. Surprisingly low-cost solutions for all your website and marketing needs. More...

Think about it—what job couldn’t an AI robot eventually do better? Baseball umpire? Already happening. Truck driver? On the road, literally. Surgeon? Steady hands, no coffee jitters. Lion tamer? Sure, just add armor plating and a cat-calming algorithm.

So yes, it may seem like we’re all doomed to unemployment. But fear not: your author believes AI will usher in a golden age of prosperity so absurdly abundant that work becomes obsolete. Just like citizens of oil-rich nations didn’t need to personally dig for crude to benefit, we’ll all enjoy the bounty of AI without needing to code, lift, or make lattes. Universal Basic Income will feel more like Universal Basic Spa Day.

Of course, then we’re left with a tough question: if AI can do art, music, literature, surgery, law, and emotional support better than us… what’s the point of us? Well, we don’t have the answer yet—but I imagine we’ll adapt. Maybe we’ll double down on relationships, self-discovery, and hobbies like playing pickleball. You know, until robots start serving aces at 120 mph and we’re forced to switch to something they can’t dominate—like interpretive dance… oh wait.

In the meantime, enjoy all this crazy and hilarious stuff generated by AI: AI Funnies Home Page
