Young Listeners
Science has determined that fetuses can hear sounds while still in the womb. Sometimes they remember. One two-year-old girl was found sitting on the floor reciting, “breathe in, breathe out, breathe in…” The only time she could have heard this was when she was in the womb as her mother was practicing the LaMaze exercises which help a mother during childbirth. There may be some possibility for prenatal education, via voice and sounds. Your author believes that it may be important to live as calm a life as possible when pregnant to let the baby come into the world with happy expectations.
Free Education
It is tempting for American kids to drop out of school. Who would want to finish school if their plans are only to build race cars or marry somebody rich? A child might be willing to risk a spanking for outrageous behavior, but even a young kid would feel some guilt if his spanking was administered to another youngster.

Ancient Student
A student in ancient Athens came up with a way to force himself to stick to his studies. He shaved the hair off half of his head. Then when he was tempted to step out, he would remember his appearance, and out of embarrassment would stay home and study instead.

“Whether a school has or has not a special method for teaching long division is of no significance, for long division is of no importance except to those who want to learn it. And the child who wants to learn long division will learn it no matter how it is taught.” – A. S. Neill
